Dr. Zafer Kurtaslan is a Turkish academician who is a violin and chamber music instructor at the Selcuk University Department of Music Education, in
Konya, Turkey. He attended master classes held by internationally recognized soloists such as Lucas David, Cihat Aşkın, Suna Kan. He also gave many concerts both as soloist and member of several orchestras in Turkey. He uses German, Russion and Suzuki methods in his
lessons.
He is the founder and konzertmeister of Selcuk University Orchestra and Selcuk Ensemble. He collaborated with famous Turkish artists such as Suna Kan, Cihat Aşkın, Cana Gürmen, Sevil Ulucan. Dr. Kurtaslan is also the conductor of the Selcuk University Student Chamber Orchestra. Kurtaslan gave many presentations in national and international congresses and published articles. He has teached in International CAKA Summer Academy (Cihat Askin and Young Friends) He studied as a visiting scholar in the Long Island University, and he stuied violin with Dr. Dale Stuckenbruck, he was also a member of the C.W. Post Orchestra which is conducted by Prof. Maureen Hynes.
Dr. Kurtaslan is currently living in Starkville, and he is playing in Starkville Symphony Orchestra and MSU Orchestra.
