Similar in construction to the model 140, the Ivan Dunov Prelude model 160 violin features upgraded tone woods and craftsmanship. These violins have beautifully flamed maple backs and select spruce tops. The model 160 has a pleasingly mature appearance and sound.
The VL160 combo comes with the violin as shown here, an Eastman dart-shaped, Cordura-covered case with blanket, and a Samuel Eastman octagonal, Brazilwood bow.

Old-world craftsmanship and materials come together in our Ivan Dunov instruments. Crafted in a traditional workshop in Romania from superb tonewoods, these instruments provide excellent sound and playability.

These two prices can be very different, so make sure what you're comparing to includes everything that comes with our VL401. The Knilling Bucharest is a popular student violin, and comes ready to play. It includes a great case and bow, factory setup, plus a local setup by our luthier when it arrives in our store. This particular model is equipped with Perfection Pegs (not all Bucharests are), which means no fine tuners are needed, and tuning is as simple as tuning a guitar.
