Since
its founding in 1978, Backstage Music has strived to meet the needs of
the musicians in our area with quality gear, fair prices, and top level
service. Now, just about every music store you shop with will
claim to have the same goals as Backstage, but few can back up the claim
as we can. Now entering our third decade of service to local
musicians, Backstage has clear goals when it comes to serving our customers.
First, we realize that substandard or inferior quality instruments and amplifiers are not a bargain at any price. With that in mind, Backstage Music has committed to carrying only gear that we would be willing to own and use ourselves. If a product doesn't pass that test, it never makes it to the sales floor at Backstage Music.
Second, we also realize that some instrument stores advertise that they have the "lowest price" on gear, and that they "won't be undersold". We've noticed that most of the stores who advertise in this manner have another aspect to their business: Once you've bought a piece of gear from them, IT'S YOURS. PERIOD. If you have a problem with what you purchased, don't call them, contact the manufacturer. In other words, in exchange for a sometimes slightly lower price on gear, you sacrifice a service relationship with that merchant. Backstage Music takes pride in having fair prices (usually our prices are competitive with the mail order giants) which allows us to stay in business without scaring your wallet. Also, we're there, Monday through Saturday, to answer your questions, demo the gear you're interested in, and help you make informed decisions about your gear, your tone, and your gig readiness.
Third, Backstage Music wants to make sure (pay close attention to this part) you actually get what you paid for. It's a common practice in the music instrument business to sell used gear "as is", with no warranty. Backstage figures money's too hard to come by to risk it on gear that worked just long enough to get it out of the store, so, at Backstage Music, every piece of used gear carries a grey tag that spells it out, in writing: "Used gear is guaranteed to work as designed for 30 days from the date of purchase, or we'll cover the parts and labor to make it right. Period." No hassle, no arguments, just reliable used gear that we're proud to backup with our name, in writing. That used Peavey Classic 50 has a bad tube? We'll fix it. The bridge pickup died in the used Tele copy? No problem, we'll take care of it.
Backing up warranties is no problem at Backstage. With three Fender Authorized repairmen on staff (one Silver Level in three areas, and two Bronze level), and a staff of professional musicians, Backstage Music has the most experienced staff of any music store in north Mississippi.
We want every experience you have with our store to be a great one, whether you buy anything or not. If you do buy something, we want you to be satisfied, and happy to call us again.
If we can be of help to you, please feel free to call Don, Earl, Tony, Drew, Scott, Craig or Jim at 662-323-3824. We're open Monday through Saturday, 10-6 Central Time.
