1977 Fender Super Reverb

About This Amplifier

This vintage 1977 Super Reverb has been used and is in perfect working condition. This amplifier is a 45W, 2 Channel amp, with a Master Volume/Pull Boost

This amplifier is 5U4 Tube Rectified.

All Original with the following exceptions:

An Orange Drop capacitor was added on the tremolo circuit in order to slow the rate of the tremolo

All 4 Speakers were replaced in 2005 with Reproduction Jensen C10Q 8 Ohm speakers keeping Ohm load originally found in these amplifiers

Earth/Ground has been removed from the power cable, but power cable is original

Amplifier Description

The "Silverface" era marked Fender's transition under CBS ownership, shifting cosmetic designs and circuit board layouts. The Silverface Super Reverb is commonly used by blues guitarists due to its ability to deliver loud, warm tube distortion through its four 10" speakers.

It is also known as having a scooped mid-range tonality, meaning that there is less midrange and an emphasis of sparkly treble and full, round bass frequencies. Famous players include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Marr, and Derek Trucks.

In late 1974 a Master Volume was added to the circuit, allowing players to get that cranked amp sound at a much lower volume. The next year in 75' Fender added a pull functionality to the master volume knob for a boost, both of these features are on this amplifier.
