Eastman E10-D Thermo Cure Acoustic Guitar With Eastman Hardshell Case

It's well known that older guitars, guitars that have been played a lot, actually sound better than brand new guitars, no matter how great the new guitar is.  Several factors are involved in making this happen.  One is that as the guitar is played over and over, the top vibrates and eventually the vibratory motion causes the grain of the guitar to develop a better tone.  This requires time, and there's nothing that duplicates the impact of time and vibration.

The second thing that creates the better tone attributed to older guitars is that the wood used for the top dries completely over time, and the wood fibers of a dry, thin top are more responsive to vibration than a greener (wetter) wood top.  This is where the Thermo Cure process used by Eastman comes into play.  The tops of selected Eastman models receive a very controlled heat treatment that help dry the guitar top, giving the wood grain a chance to "open up" sooner than normal, giving the guitar a better tone right off the bat.
